ePORTFOLIOS
What's an ePortfolio?
Technology provides an opportunity to move BEYOND work on "paper" to work that is organized, searchable, and transportable.
Students at colleges and universities across the country are creating websites (ePortfolios) that represent their goals and achievements --- in formal academic settings AND in work, service learning and informal activities.
ePortfolios are especially valuable for community college students because they will be "transporting" their learning to other colleges or universities. Students can provide a link to their ePortfolio in an application for a scholarship, advanced academic work, or employment.
Electronic portfolios provide a platform to collect evidence of learning in a variety of formats... electronic documents (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint presentation, Web pages), multimedia files (video, audio, graphic, image, photo, art, music) and links (blogs, social media, other websites).
